KTI Networks Converter Racks: Order and Functionality in the Server Cabinet
Authored by: Inga Müller | 05.09.2024
When it comes to switching from copper to fiber optics, we recommend using media converters. This allows higher data throughput rates and speeds to be achieved for each individual connection than with a switch. KTI offers suitable solutions for the simple and clear installation of multiple converters with its converter racks from the KC-1300 and KCR-4MC series. This not only allows you to create a clear layout, but also enables central control and power supply.
KC-1300: The Manageable Converter Rack
The KC-1300 rack series is designed for mounting up to 16 media converters. The converters are optimally housed in the 19-inch cabinet and supplied with power centrally. Depending on the model, power can be supplied with 48V DC or 230V AC. A redundant power supply is also available as an option.
The rack series is also available with integrated management. This allows you to centrally query the system status, operating modes, or link states of the individual converters. The KC-1300 converter rack is suitable for accommodating devices from the KTI series KGC-311, KGC-310M, KGC-301, KGC-300, KC-300DM, KC-300D, and KC-350/351.
KCR-4MC: Central Power Supply
KTI also offers a mounting solution for a smaller number of converters. The KCR-4MC converter rack accommodates up to four devices and, if desired, supplies them with power centrally via an integrated power supply unit. It is compatible with devices from the KGC-311, KGC-310M, KGC-300, KC-300DM, KGC-301, KC-350/351, and KC-300D series. Other industrial KTI devices or mini switches can also be easily mounted with this chassis.
The converter racks provide you with a functional mounting solution for installation in a 19-inch cabinet. KTI also offers practical brackets for wall or DIN rail mounting.
